Position Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for conducting general maintenance and repairs on assigned equipment and facilities. This includes tasks related to plumbing, electrical systems, basic carpentry, heating and cooling systems, and other essential building operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and identify equipment or machinery requiring repair.
  • Troubleshoot issues to ascertain necessary repairs.
  • Plan repair work utilizing building blueprints or equipment manuals as needed.
  • Execute general repairs that do not necessitate specialized technicians, such as drywall repairs, painting, and fixing doors and other fixtures.
  • Perform routine maintenance on various building systems.
  • Assist in cleaning and maintaining the facilities.
  • Order supplies and materials essential for repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Carry out other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to follow directions from supervisors.
  • Knowledge of general carpentry and repair techniques.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Related experience is preferred.
  • On-the-job training will be provided.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be physically capable of climbing ladders, bending, or crawling into tight spaces.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
