Job Overview

Babbitting Service Inc. (BSI) is seeking to hire a Facility Maintenance Technician at our headquarters. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and hands-on professional who will engage in a range of tasks throughout the facility, including the repair of machinery, tools, and various building systems. Responsibilities also include performing and overseeing preventive maintenance on equipment as required, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and coordinating with external contractors for necessary projects. Effective communication with management is essential.

The selected individual will collaborate closely with the production team to ensure the facility and shop remain in optimal operating condition, both inside and outside.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a variety of tasks throughout the facility, including machinery and tool repairs, as well as general building maintenance.
  • Implement and manage preventive maintenance schedules for equipment.
  • Maintain comprehensive maintenance records.
  • Execute intermediate repairs on BSI equipment as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Possess basic fabrication skills and knowledge.
  • Change oils and coolants in all machinery as needed.
  • Utilize Hazmat training knowledge to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ability to operate a forklift, with training provided as necessary.
  • Proficient in using basic tools for equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Basic understanding of blueprints and schematic diagrams.
