Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Residency Program Director to join our team at Universal Hospital Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the pharmacy residency program, including the Pharmacy Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY1) program, and working in coordination with the Hospital's Osteopathic Residency Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement the pharmacy residency program(s) in accordance with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) criteria for residency programs.
  • Chair a pharmacy residency advisory committee and collaborate with Pharmacy Leadership and the Graduate Medical Education (GME) department to provide education in pharmacotherapy and student/resident preceptor development.
  • Manage the training and direct activities of the pharmacy residents to assure completion of the ASHP residency objectives.
  • Coordinate pharmacy services related to the hospital's osteopathic residency program and represent pharmacy on appropriate drug policy and other committees within the organization.
  • Appoint and develop pharmacy staff to become preceptors for the program and demonstrate leadership qualities and professionalism.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (BS Pharm) required, Doctorate degree in Pharmacy (Pharm D) preferred.
  • PGY1 residency and Three (3) years pharmacy practice experience; or PGY1 + PGY2 with one year of experience; or five (5) years of experience.
  • Current license as Pharmacist in the State of Nevada and Board Certification (BCPS) - must obtain within 18 months.
  • Thorough knowledge of pharmacy operations and software skills using MS Office, proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel, some knowledge of MS Access.
