Mathematics Professor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Teaching Professor in Mathematics to join our department at Santa Clara University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching lower-division mathematics courses, advising students, and engaging in departmental and university service activities.

Responsibilities:

• Teaching and Advising (70%): Teach a standard load of seven courses, conduct classes, assign and evaluate student work, hold office hours, and participate in curriculum development.
• Service (15%): Engage in departmental and university service activities.
• Professional Development (15%): Engage in scholarly or creative work, professional practice, or other active engagement in the discipline.

Requirements:

• A Ph.D. in mathematics, computer science, or a closely-related field, to be completed by start date.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching university-level lower-division courses.
