Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at Tucson Medical Center. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for collecting patient blood specimens at outside clinics and facilities, preparing specimens for transport, and ensuring the integrity of the specimens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect patient blood specimens at outside clinics and facilities
  • Prepare specimens for transport, including decanting, refrigerating, or freezing as needed
  • Create and verify specimen batch lists for transport
  • Operate a personal computer, calculator, and other office machinery as needed
  • Request and order supplies as necessary
  • Assist in training new personnel as needed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months of experience collecting blood specimens
  • Valid AZ driver's license
  • Knowledge of proper blood specimen collection and chain of custody
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, complete routine reports, and communicate effectively
