Position Overview

The Manager of Asset Risk is accountable for the comprehensive oversight and adherence to Black Hills Energy's (BHE) Transmission and Storage Integrity Management Programs (TIMP and SIMP) for pipeline systems that serve a vast customer base across multiple states. This role involves leading a team of skilled professionals across various locations to ensure that TIMP and SIMP initiatives are executed in full compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $110,900 - $183,100, which reflects the full pay scale. Compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.

Reporting Structure: This position reports directly to the Director of Gas Engineering Design & Project Management.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, motivate, and cultivate a team of technical experts and engineers to enhance pipeline safety and integrity.
* Take a proactive approach in evaluating the company’s pipeline safety status and provide strategic recommendations to senior management annually to develop a leading pipeline safety program.
* Oversee the integrity baseline assessment plan for multi-state regions and ensure the availability of technical expertise for each assessment.
* Manage pipeline integrity Preventative and Mitigative (P&M) measures across various states.
* Provide analytical insights to state and senior leadership regarding potential threats to the BHE system.
* Participate as a key contributor in the budget planning process related to pipeline integrity.
* Lead the company's corrosion control initiatives and manage corrosion specialists across multiple locations.
* Execute all responsibilities in a safe and reliable manner.
* Monitor compliance with gas operations and asset risk management protocols.

Additional Duties:
* Assist and support other asset risk management functions within the department.
* Promote safety, diversity, and social responsibility objectives of the department and the organization.
* Recruit, lead, train, and develop a diverse and remote workforce.

Qualifications:
* A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in the natural gas sector with a focus on pipeline integrity is essential.
* 3-4 years of managerial experience leading a remote team.
* Proven technical and operational expertise.
* Familiarity with DOT, PHMSA, AMSE, API, and all relevant codes related to compressor station design and operation.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to lead a diverse team with varying needs.
* Capability to manage multiple projects of different scales simultaneously.
* A collaborative team player with demonstrated leadership abilities.
* Proficiency in presenting and reporting analytical information in a clear and understandable manner.
