The University of Washington Medical Center - Montlake is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) for our Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Role Overview:
The CNS plays a pivotal role in enhancing nursing practices and improving patient care quality. Responsibilities include:
  • Addressing the evolving needs of the organization, nursing personnel, and patients in a dynamic healthcare landscape.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to nursing teams.
  • Serving as a clinical expert and resource for neonatal patient care.
  • Offering information and resources to elevate nursing skills and practices.
  • Leading the development of evidence-based protocols and policies, promoting clinical standards, and assessing outcomes.
  • Advancing neonatal nursing through knowledge sharing via publications and presentations at professional gatherings.
  • Overseeing specific projects or initiatives focused on quality and patient safety.
  • Building collaborative relationships with the CNS team and other healthcare entities.
  • Working alongside nursing staff and management to evaluate nursing practices and identify educational needs.
  • Encouraging professional growth within the nursing team.

Qualifications:
  • Master of Nursing or higher.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • A minimum of five years of nursing experience.
  • At least five years of recent experience in a Level IV NICU.
