About the Role
The Packaging Maintenance Mechanic will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our automated food processing facility. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing proactive preventative/predictive maintenance, repairs, and improvements on packaging equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations, including LOTO, fall protection, and hot work.
- Perform uptime and downtime preventative maintenance inspections on weighers, baggers, and conveyors.
- Troubleshoot and perform corrective work on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Identify and execute improvements on equipment, documentation, work systems, and processes.
- Collaborate with various departments through face-to-face, telephone, email, and radio communications.
- Provide training and development to operators and other maintenance personnel.
- Research system and component specifications using equipment manuals, schematics, and vendor communication.
- Operate cutting, welding, and fabrication equipment to cut, form, and/or join materials.
- Create and modify work orders in our Computerized Maintenance Management System.
- Research parts, gather quotes, and generate requests.
- Escalate technical, procedural, and personnel-related issues to direct lead or supervisor as necessary.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required; technical degree and three years or more of related experience preferred.
- Effective English communication is a must; bilingual is preferred.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variable situations.
- Ability to interpret instructions and present information to groups.
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds as needed.
