Position Overview

The Funding Development Specialist will spearhead the creation of proposals and reports for NPower's national Partnership & Engagement team, focusing on significant corporate partnerships. This role will also involve coordinating various special initiatives to enhance engagement and placement efforts, such as managing our annual virtual Career and Resource Fair. Reporting to the Director of Partnership Development, this individual will receive guidance in prioritizing tasks and managing workflow. A genuine passion for NPower's mission and a proactive approach to understanding our programs, regions, and processes are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research to identify and pursue grants and funding opportunities that align with the organization's mission.
  • Craft and submit persuasive grant proposals, ensuring compliance with all guidelines and accuracy in details.
  • Collaborate with different departments to collect necessary information and data for grant applications and reports.
  • Maintain an organized calendar of grant deadlines to ensure timely submission of proposals.
  • Monitor and report on the status of grant applications and funding outcomes.
  • Oversee special projects and initiatives, ensuring effective planning, execution, and assessment.
  • Assist the NPower Placement Director in business development efforts, including researching potential partners and contributing to proposal development.
  • Facilitate internal communications by drafting and distributing newsletters, memos, and other updates to keep staff informed.
  • Work with stakeholders to create project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Track project progress, identify potential risks, and implement strategies to address challenges.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to convey project results and impacts.
  • Stay informed about trends in grant funding, regulations, and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in grant writing, with a history of successful applications.
  • Strong research and analytical capabilities to identify funding opportunities and gather pertinent data.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey project objectives and outcomes.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects concurrently.
