Job Opportunity at Louisiana Tech University

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Chief Flight Instructor within the College of Liberal Arts at Louisiana Tech University.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate aviation classroom courses
  • Conduct flight instruction in the flight education program
  • Advise students
  • Assist with planning, development, and revision of flight and ground school course curricula
  • Engage in research and professional service within the guidelines of the University and as determined by the Department Chair
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Current CFI-A/CFI-I
  • Current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate
  • No history of FAA certificate enforcement action

Candidates must be able to work well under pressure, adapt to constantly changing conditions, and have the ability to multi-task, collect information, analyze data, define challenges, set priorities, and draw valid conclusions in a timely manner.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in aviation related academic field
  • Current AGI/IGI/MEI
  • Prior experience as a 14 CFR Part 141 flight instructor
  • Experience with collegiate aviation accreditation through the Aviation Accreditation Board International
