We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our Revenue Cycle team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration and admission process for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Registration and Admission: Accurately collect and analyze demographic, insurance, and clinical data to register and admit patients from all payer classes.
- Communication and Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Revenue Cycle Activities: Perform revenue cycle activities to prevent payment denials, increase cash collections, and ensure accurate financial disposition of account balances.
- Departmental Support: Perform general clerical and support duties, including receiving and responding to inquiries, maintaining patient tracking systems, and monitoring work queues.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, with 2-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in revenue cycle or patient access.
- Skills and Abilities: Effective organizational and prioritization skills, sophisticated interviewing and communication skills, intermediate math and business writing skills, and demonstrated customer service skills.
This is a fast-paced environment with established time constraints and emotional and sensitive situations. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear. Must possess visual acuity and manual dexterity to perform computer data entry and other clerical aspects of the job.
