Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Plan, develop, and implement a variety of activities and events that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our residents, including physical, mental, and spiritual activities.
  • Resident Engagement: Interview residents and their families to understand their preferences and interests, and use this information to tailor our programs and services to meet their needs.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative duties such as completing necessary forms, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Volunteer Management: Recruit, supervise, and train volunteers to assist with program implementation and resident engagement.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other department members to ensure seamless delivery of services and programs.
  • Community Outreach: Establish and maintain relationships with local community agencies and organizations to enhance our programs and services.
  • Emergency Procedures: Develop and implement emergency procedures, including CPR training, to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents.
  • Policy Development: Develop, maintain, and update policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day operations of the Activities Department.
  • Reporting and Evaluation: Prepare reports and recommendations regarding the operation of the Activities Department, and evaluate the effectiveness of our programs and services.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as gerontology, recreation therapy, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a senior living community.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and strong organizational and time management skills.
