Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to support our operations at Hynes HVAC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install HVAC systems and components in accordance with company standards and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Conduct wiring tasks for both low and high voltage systems related to heating and cooling equipment.
  • Install copper refrigerant lines for air conditioning units, including necessary brazing and soldering techniques.
  • Set up flex and sheet metal ductwork in both commercial and residential environments.
  • Ensure proper connection of gas lines to heating systems.
  • Assess and determine the materials required for installation by accurately measuring job specifications.
  • Receive and load all necessary materials and equipment into the service vehicle for each assignment.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks as directed by management.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Complete all required documentation for each job accurately.
  • Perform diagnostics and readings on HVAC machinery, understanding the implications of those readings.
  • Keep the assigned service vehicle clean and well-maintained.
  • Execute any additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • 1-5 years of experience in HVAC installation and service.
  • High School Diploma or GED; EPA certification is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and customer service orientation.
  • Dependable and honest work ethic.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to differentiate between various HVAC equipment.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to represent the company positively.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Proficient in reading and writing in English; Spanish fluency is advantageous.
  • Ability to safely lift items weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Capability to work in extreme temperatures, exceeding 120 degrees for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Physical ability to climb, stoop, balance, crouch, crawl, and kneel as required.
