Job Summary

As an Electronic Systems Specialist with the Army National Guard, you will be responsible for maintaining the electronic systems that keep our weapons firing for the Army National Guard. This includes working with everything from handguns and shotguns, to sniper rifles and ballistic missiles.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair electronic systems
Maintain and repair small arms and artillery systems
Work with electronic, electrical, and mechanical test equipment

Requirements

Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
Must meet citizenship requirements

Training and Development

Job training for Electronic Systems Specialists consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and 7 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Training consists of both classroom and field work.
