Waukesha Memorial Hospital (WMH) is seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomy Specialist/Client Services Representative to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory staff, you will be responsible for performing various laboratory procedures, including specimen collection, processing, and testing.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and process blood and other specimens from patients in various hospital departments and off-site locations.
- Perform venipuncture, capillary, and arterial collections with minimal discomfort and according to established policies and procedures.
- Establish positive identification of patients prior to performing procedures.
- Accurately and completely label specimens according to established laboratory policies and procedures.
- Provide patient instruction relative to the collection of non-blood specimens.
- Appropriately prioritize specimen collection requests and respond to Stat, timed, and routine specimen collection requests in a timely manner.
- Process specimens for testing in the laboratory and transport them between sites as needed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license in good standing required.
- Previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
- ASCP Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
