Position Overview:

The role of Customer Care Specialist I involves managing inbound inquiries and providing vital information to both internal and external callers. You will utilize electronic directories to ensure callers are directed to the appropriate resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming calls, utilizing databases and reference materials to assist callers effectively.
  • Process after-hours patient and emergency calls following established protocols.
  • Navigate the on-call system to identify and contact on-call providers.
  • Provide assistance to individuals in emergency situations, including relay services for hearing-impaired callers.
  • Respond to general inquiries about our organization using electronic resources.
  • Perform data entry tasks, maintaining accurate records in our systems.
  • Support internal medical emergency calls as needed to ensure business continuity.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of call center or telephone operator experience, or 2 years of customer service experience.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks involving keyboard and telephone work.
