Role Overview:

We invite you to join our Finance team in Greensboro, collaborating closely with Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Analysis and Reporting:

• Conduct thorough analysis of manufacturing expenses and generate regular reports to monitor cost performance.

• Identify variances and propose strategies for cost reduction.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for manufacturing operations.

• Track actual costs against budgeted figures and revise forecasts as needed.

Cost Monitoring:

• Oversee daily production costs to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.

• Analyze labor, material, and overhead expenses.

Process Improvement:

• Recognize opportunities for cost-saving initiatives and process enhancements.

• Partner with production and engineering teams to implement cost-effective solutions.

Variance Analysis:

• Perform variance analysis to compare actual costs with standard costs.

• Investigate discrepancies and provide recommendations for corrective measures.

Standard Costing:

• Establish and maintain standard costs for products, ensuring regular updates.

• Guarantee accurate application of standard costing methods in product pricing.

Financial Controls:

• Develop and uphold robust financial controls within the manufacturing sector.

• Ensure compliance with corporate policies and accounting standards.

Capital Expenditure:

• Assess and oversee capital expenditure projects to ensure completion within budget.

• Conduct cost-benefit analyses for new initiatives or equipment acquisitions.

Interdepartmental Coordination:

• Collaborate with the finance department for accurate financial reporting.

• Work with procurement to manage supplier costs and negotiate favorable terms.

Cost Reduction Initiatives:

• Lead and engage in cross-functional teams to identify and execute cost reduction strategies.

• Monitor and report on the progress and savings achieved from these initiatives.

Financial Audits:

• Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary cost data and documentation.

• Ensure implementation of audit recommendations.

Training and Development:

• Mentor junior cost accountants and staff on cost control practices.

• Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in cost management.

Qualifications:

Who You Are:

Technical Skills:

1. Financial Analysis and Reporting:

• Proficient in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

• Strong analytical skills for interpreting financial data and providing actionable insights.

2. Cost Accounting:

• Expertise in cost accounting principles relevant to manufacturing, including standard costing and variance analysis.

3. ERP Systems:

• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics (AX), especially finance and manufacturing modules.

4. Advanced Excel Skills:

• Proficient in advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables and financial modeling.

5. Financial Controls and Compliance:

• Knowledge of financial regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and internal controls for compliance and accuracy.

6. Data Analysis and Business Intelligence Tools:

• Familiarity with tools like Power BI or Tableau for generating financial insights.

Experience:

1. Industry Experience:

• Extensive background in the manufacturing sector with a solid grasp of production processes and cost structures.

2. Project Management:

• Experience managing financial projects, including process improvements and system implementations.

3. Strategic Planning:

• Involvement in strategic financial planning and long-term forecasting.

Certifications and Licenses:

1. Professional Accounting Certification:

• CPA, CFA, or CGMA certification is highly regarded.

2. MBA or Relevant Advanced Degree:

• A Master's degree in Finance or Business Administration is advantageous.
