Medical Assistant/Referral Coordinator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant/Referral Coordinator to join our team at OnPoint Family Medicine: Parker Square. As a Medical Assistant/Referral Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare team by assisting with patient care, referrals, and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and treatments, performing point-of-care tests as needed.
- Document patient information accurately and efficiently in our electronic medical record system.
- Coordinate referrals and communicate with patients, providers, and insurance carriers to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, medications, and test results.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, verifying patient information, and processing referrals.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant certification or equivalent experience preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in family or pediatric medicine.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and practice management software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
