Job Title: Early Childhood Quality Coach

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Quality Coach to join our team at Trying Together. As a Quality Coach, you will play a critical role in supporting early care and education programs in Allegheny County to achieve higher program quality.

About the Role

The Early Learning Resource Center (ELRC) Region 5 Quality Coach will work closely with program administrators, classroom staff, and home-based child care providers to develop new skills and continuously improve their early care and education practices. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young children and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with program administrators and staff to create a cohesive approach to continuous quality improvement.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group coaching to classroom staff to strengthen child development practices and ensure quality programming.
  • Facilitate face-to-face and virtual professional development sessions for providers.
  • Complete on-site face-to-face program visits to offer support and strategies for continuous quality improvement.
  • Review STARS scores with program leadership teams and staff to identify areas of strength and develop goals for improvement.
  • Use a strengths-based approach to provide constructive feedback and support for program administrators and educators.
  • Develop and support the implementation of individualized plans that identify strengths, needs, and goals for each program staff.
  • Work collaboratively with the ELRC and Trying Together Quality Initiatives team to ensure the needs of Allegheny County early care and education programs are being met.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Two or more years of early childhood classroom experience and two years of experience at an administrative level in an early care and education setting.
  • Ability to employ a variety of consultation and coaching strategies based on appropriate and culturally competent practices.
  • Capacity to align consultation with professional development content.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of state assessment tools and local, state, and national systems for early care and education.
