Job Title: Staff Radar and Signal Processing Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Radar and Signal Processing Engineer to join our team at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI). As a key member of our Applied Sciences and Technologies (ASTech) team, you will be responsible for developing innovative solutions to advanced technical problems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Initiate and develop highly innovative solutions to advanced technical problems
  • Perform assessments of candidate state-of-the-art signal processing algorithms
  • Develop sensing capabilities leveraging a wide range of technologies; RF, AI/ML, EO/IR, DSP, EW, etc.
  • Develop and assess novel communications solutions, including waveforms, networking, and electronics
  • Modeling link-budgets to help define system requirements and performance
  • Implement Space-time adaptive processing (STAP) techniques
  • Perform analysis of candidate designs to determine the impact to subsystem and system performance
  • Provide expert guidance and consulting to other staff members
  • Assist in the concept generation for, and authorship of, white papers and proposals
  • Support supplier and subcontractor evaluations
  • Provide technical management of subcontracts when required
  • Represent the Company as a technical contact to customers and suppliers
Requirements:
  • Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, four or more years of experience with a masters degree, or two or more years with a PhD.
  • May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education
  • Must be a team player with excellent communications skills both verbally and in technical writing
  • Must be able to prepare and conduct detailed technical presentations and reviews
  • Must be customer focused, formulates plans based on the development of innovative new designs in resolving advanced technical engineering problems
  • Must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required
  • Limited travel and extended work schedules may be required

  • A competitive salary range of $98,100 - $171,398
