We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist to join our Applied Sciences and Technologies (ASTech) team within the Agile Mission Systems (AMS) division at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a Scientist to contribute to the development of novel sensing capabilities leveraging a wide range of technologies, including RF, AI/ML, EO/IR, DSP, EW, etc. The successful candidate will report to and work closely with the Manager of the RF & Signal Processing team.
Key Responsibilities- Initiate and develop highly innovative solutions to advanced technical problems
- Perform assessments of candidate state-of-the-art signal processing algorithms
- Develop sensing capabilities leveraging a wide range of technologies
- Develop and assess novel communications solutions, including waveforms, networking, and electronics
- Modeling link-budgets to help define system requirements and performance
- Implement Space-time adaptive processing (STAP) techniques
- Perform analysis of candidate designs to determine the impact to subsystem and system performance
- Provide expert guidance and consulting to other staff members
- Assist in the concept generation for, and authorship of, white papers and proposals
- Support supplier and subcontractor evaluations
- Provide technical management of subcontracts when required
- Represent the Company as a technical contact to customers and suppliers
