    • Collaborate with veterinary colleagues to ensure comprehensive care and efficient animal flow.
    • Document medical findings and care plans accurately, ensuring effective communication with the medical team.
    • Oversee all aspects of veterinary care, including pre and post-operative care and emergency interventions.
    • Participate in daily assessments of patients, ensuring timely implementation of treatment recommendations.
    • Guide decisions regarding euthanasia with compassion and consideration for the animals' needs.
    • Adhere to safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
    • Engage in continuing education to maintain licensure and stay current with veterinary practices.
  • Mentorship and Training (40%):
    • Foster a culture of learning and improvement within the Kitten Nursery.
    • Model best practices in animal care and handling.
    • Educate and mentor staff on shelter medicine principles and protocols.
    • Ensure timely support for foster care inquiries and medical conditions.
    • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Eligibility for licensure in New York State.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of shelter medicine.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-volume environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Compensation:
