POSITION SUMMARY

Gana-A'Yoo Services Corporation is in search of a Junior Purchasing Manager to support a base operations contract in Kodiak, AK. This role is responsible for executing procurement strategies, fostering strong relationships with vendors, collaborating with internal departments regarding their supply requirements, and overseeing the purchasing team in their daily functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and implements procurement strategies.
  • Oversees daily purchasing operations, managing staff and delegating tasks effectively.
  • Maintains supplier relationships and negotiates pricing, delivery schedules, and other terms.
  • Manages the supplier database, purchase documentation, and related records.
  • Collaborates with inventory management to assess and fulfill inventory requirements.
  • Ensures maintenance of office and manufacturing equipment.
  • Verifies that all procured items comply with established quality standards and specifications.
  • Prepares cost estimates and oversees budget management.
  • Strives to enhance procurement systems and processes.
  • Trains new hires on procurement procedures and software usage.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in supervisory and management roles is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software is required.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and negotiation abilities.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
