Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sanitation Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations surrounding the cleaning and sanitizing process for our facility. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all Company, Regulatory Entities, and Federal and State guidelines, regulations, and laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities to ensure that all sanitation employees follow cleaning procedures for production lines and the facility to meet/exceed Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), USDA, and FDA guidelines.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure a food-safe and sanitary environment following all specifications and USDA requirements.
  • Assure strict enforcement of all safety, OSHA, FSIS, USDA, and HACCP regulations.
  • Lead or participate in the planning and implementation of process improvements, monitor improvement metrics, and solve for reoccurring issues.
  • Provide direction for supervisors to work towards and encourage teamwork to achieve goals.
  • Partner with internal departments/shifts to ensure departmental and location goals are met or exceeded.
  • Mentor, coach, and train/cross-train employees to encourage career development; provide consistent feedback concerning strengths and areas in need of improvement.
  • Administer performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions on a fair and consistent basis.
  • Assist in performing regular housekeeping, SQF, and regulatory audits.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree/Technical Certificate preferred.
  • HACCP Certification preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years' relevant experience in food manufacturing; experience in poultry industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated three (3) years' leadership experience including knowledge of timekeeping requirements, policy adherence, Top 25 behaviors, conflict resolution, and the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their interactions and potential hazards.
  • Working knowledge of poultry processing, food safety regulations, OSHA guidelines, GMP, and HACCP.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbal and written, with internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner; ability to communicate in multiple languages (Spanish) preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Proficient computer and math skills; knowledge of Adage software preferred.
  • Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
  • Ability to work non-standard or extended shifts, including nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk throughout shift.
  • May be exposed to heat (99°F, 37°C) and cold (45°F, 4°C).
  • Exposed to wet and cold environments.
  • Work around live and/or raw animal odors.
