Job Title: Materials Manager

Dana Incorporated is a leading global supplier of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies. We are seeking a skilled Materials Manager to oversee the execution of manufacturing schedules and ensure the application of production, test, development, documentation, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the execution of manufacturing schedules and ensure the application of production, test, development, documentation, and safety standards.
  • Utilize Lean concepts to reduce and manage WIP and inventory and improve material flow.
  • Ensure controls, inventory levels, and flow of materials are consistent with forecasts for manufacturing and customer service requirements.
  • Assist in the formulation of business plans, including capital improvements and projections of plant production capabilities.
  • Coordinate with production operations, engineering, maintenance, and other departments to achieve production goals.
  • Prepare reports and analysis of various cost control, production, labor, quality, facility usage, and other reports.
  • Ensure prompt and economical receipt of materials, supplies, and parts, and ensure that plant standards and requirements are met.
  • Conduct studies to ensure the plant operates in a cost-efficient manner as technology, legal, regulatory policy, and product changes are implemented.
  • Perform administrative activities necessary for effective department management, including selection and development of employees, budget administration, employee counseling and motivation, and organization goals and objectives.
  • Plan, organize, integrate, and measure the work performed within the department.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Five or more years of experience in inventory or production control.
  • In-depth understanding of production scheduling, customer service, engineering, and quality functions.
  • Experience implementing Lean material management concepts is preferred.
  • APICS certification is a plus.
  • Computer skills in a Windows environment, utilizing programs such as Lotus Notes, Word, Excel, and material planning applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
