Position Overview...

As a Lead Meat Specialist, you will enhance sales in your section to provide our members with more of what they cherish, at a lower cost. You will collaborate with fellow team members to ensure the overall establishment meets the expectations of our members.

Your Responsibilities...

  • Team Collaboration: Works alongside cross-functional teams and assists in educating other staff on tools, tasks, and resources; communicates effectively and develops interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional customer service; remains adaptable to the business's needs; monitors inventory, maintains stock levels, and manages shrinkage.
  • Product Expertise: Possesses comprehensive knowledge of various meat types and their seasonal availability, equipment operation, and backroom processes; provides meat products to members by processing according to specifications (such as cutting, slicing, grinding, and wrapping); ensures adherence to food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and inventory control; operates, maintains, and cleans equipment.
  • Technology Utilization: Utilizes digital tools to boost sales, enhance the shopping experience, and improve associate engagement; employs handheld technology to make prompt business decisions regarding production, training, and product quality with the member's interests in mind; adapts to new technologies and encourages others to embrace them.
  • Operational Ownership: Drives business outcomes, ensuring a commitment to operational excellence, planning for profitability, and maintaining a workspace in accordance with company policies; guarantees quality and standards for high-volume meat products; reduces waste; secures delicate and high-shrink items; assists members with purchasing choices; ensures products are appropriately packaged, labeled, and stored.
  • Department Advocate: Acts as a champion for the department and the establishment by prioritizing the member's experience in the meat section and exemplifying high-quality service and products; executes fundamental tasks at the highest quality level; engages with associates to identify challenges and aids in training them to perform job-related responsibilities as assigned.
  • Adheres to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards by implementing relevant action plans; utilizing the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices.
  • Completes work assignments and priorities by leveraging policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, colleagues, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; executing tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, challenges, and feedback.

The hourly wage range for this position is $18.00 to $25.00*

*The actual hourly rate will meet or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be provided in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour under specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
