The Senior Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role within the Accounting Department, executing essential accounting operations to guarantee the precision of financial reports and metrics that reflect revenue, profitability, cash flow, and other fiscal outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for both the U.S. and Canada, including taxes, bonuses, and benefits.

- Prepare journal entries and compile supporting documentation for assigned tasks during the financial close, including recording accruals, payroll, cash transactions, reclassifications, and adjustments.

- Conduct account reconciliations for designated balance sheet accounts, ensuring that reconciling items are thoroughly documented and resolved promptly.
- Analyze fluctuations in balance sheet accounts, identify trends, and assess reasonableness in relation to business activities.
- Comprehend transactional workflows, maintain knowledge of data sources, and ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with business partners, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Human Resources to gain a comprehensive understanding of business operations.
- Assist in the analysis and investigation of variances or unusual trends.
- Update process documentation for assigned accounting procedures.
- Ensure adherence to all company accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Prepare audit schedules for external auditors, including necessary supporting documentation.
- Record reclassifications of On Account Cash from Accounts Receivable.
- Create monthly prepaid entries.
- Perform additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

Experience and Skills:
- Familiarity with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with Oracle R12 or other ERP systems is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Customer-oriented mindset, capable of building effective relationships with business partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Flexibility in work hours to meet critical deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt as necessary.
