Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at Atlantic Health System. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for assisting nursing personnel in providing quality care to patients in the operating room.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures, including setting up equipment and supplies.
  • Help maintain a sterile environment during surgical procedures, including handling and preparing instruments and supplies.
  • Assist in transferring patients to the recovery room and cleaning and restocking the operating room.
  • Perform surgical scrub techniques and gown and glove procedures for self and surgical team.
  • Arrange instruments, basins, sutures, and software in a precise manner for accurate count after the completion of surgical procedures.
  • Assist circulating nurses with counts of all sponges, cottonoids, needles, vessels loops, umbilical tape, penrose drains, and other devices and instruments.
  • Use all devices and instruments appropriately and perform the standard draping technique.
  • Pass instruments to surgical team in a safe and efficient manner.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Scrub Tech in a Hospital Setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or related field.
