Job Summary:

The Operating Room Surgical Aide will work as an integral part of the healthcare team, responsible for maintaining a safe environment in which quality patient care is delivered. This role requires strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport patients to and from the Operating Room and other locations.
  • Assist nursing staff in the rooms with patient care, including positioning and transfer of anesthetized patients.
  • Perform between-case cleaning to minimize turnaround between surgical procedures.
  • Check status of stretchers and oxygen tanks to ensure they are ready and available for patient transport.
  • Deliver specimens and blood products to the Laboratory or Radiology as directed by nursing personnel.
  • Maintain order and cleanliness in the Operating Room and CSR2 Soiled area.
  • Collaborate with other members of the surgical team to ensure each Operating Room is clean and all equipment is in place.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Satisfactory references.
  • CPR training required.
