We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at Atlantic Health System. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality patient care and safety in the operating room.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist nursing personnel in providing quality care to patients in the operating room, adhering to strict sterile technique and protocols.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities of a scrub person under the direction of a registered professional nurse, ensuring seamless execution of surgical procedures.
  • Assist in obtaining supplies, equipment, and opening of operating and other rooms as necessary, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Break down setup and prepare instruments for sterilization, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.
  • Help transfer patients to the recovery room and clean and restock the operating room, ensuring a smooth transition.
Accountabilities
  • Check and gather all instruments for each case in assigned room using the surgeon's preference card, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Check sterility tapes, dates, and integrity of wrappers, maintaining a sterile field and taking immediate action to correct any breaks in technique.
  • Perform surgical scrub techniques and gown and glove procedures for self and surgical team, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.
  • Arrange instruments, basins, sutures, and software in a precise manner for accurate count after the completion of surgical procedures.
  • Assist circulating nurses with counts of all sponges, cottonoids, needles, vessels loops, umbilical tape, penrose drains, and other devices and instruments.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Scrub Tech in a Hospital Setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or related field.
