About the Role

Memorial Satilla Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Outpatient Surgery team as a PRN (as-needed) nurse. As a key member of our surgical team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to patients undergoing elective and scheduled surgeries.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in emergency procedures and provide care to patients before, during, and after surgery
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patients receive the best possible care
  • Serve as a liaison between the surgical team and patients' families
  • Organize supplies needed for patients and maintain a sterile operating room
  • Perform count procedures to protect patients from unintended retained foreign objects and ensure procedures are performed on the correct site, side, and level
  • Administer medications in accordance with physician orders and actively involve patients or designated support persons in decisions affecting their post-perioperative plan of care and rehabilitation process

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with an Associate degree in Nursing or higher
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in Perioperative Nursing (strongly preferred)
