Job Summary

The H&K Group is seeking a skilled Secondary Plant Operator to join our team at the Blooming Glen Quarry. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of plant equipment, maintaining a safe working environment, and contributing to the production of high-quality construction aggregate and landscape products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain plant equipment, including crushers and screens, to ensure optimal production and efficiency.
  • Perform daily greasing and oil checks on equipment, and report any maintenance issues to the superintendent.
  • Inspect and maintain plant walkways, ensuring they are clear of debris and hazards.
  • Conduct daily guarding inspections and plant checks, reporting any issues to the superintendent.
  • Assist in solving production problems and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Fill out necessary paperwork and maintain accurate records.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or one month of related experience and/or training.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with colleagues and management.
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including lifting, bending, and working in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 months+ related experience in heavy equipment operation, preferably in a quarry or heavy civil construction setting.
  • Experience working with MSHA or other relevant safety certifications.
  • Loader operation experience, with a strong preference for candidates with this background.
