Evening Counselor

Pine Street Inn is seeking a dedicated Evening Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our shelter staff, you will provide direct care to guests, respond to their needs in a timely and professional manner, and assist with the development and implementation of a housing pathway.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to guests, including responding to their needs and prioritizing their well-being
- Assist with the development and implementation of a housing pathway, motivating guests to work towards housing and connecting them with appropriate resources
- Connect guests with substance abuse, mental health, and medical resources when necessary
- Enter data into the Homeless Management Information (HMIS) system and document reports in accordance with agency policy
- Make sound decisions and seek guidance from a supervisor as needed
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year of experience in the Human Services field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid MA driver's license in good standing
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Administering Narcan and CPR in a work setting
- Knowledge in the areas of addiction, recovery, and mental illness
- Knowledge of issues pertaining to the homeless
- Knowledge of area resources
Work Environment:
This role works 100% on site at 363 Albany Street, Boston, MA.
