Senior Privacy Counsel Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned privacy professional to join our team at The PeterSan Group and PeterSan Legal Staffing. As a senior privacy counsel, you will play a critical role in advising our clients on various areas of privacy and data security law.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide counsel on data privacy and protection, including negotiating data privacy-related agreements and advising on consumer-related issues.
  • Draft or enhance data governance policies, including guidelines on data retention, access, privacy-by-design reviews, data protection impact assessments, data transfers, and vendor management.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with data security regulations and best practices.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate data security risks and incidents.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and developments in data privacy and security.
Requirements:
  • J.D. degree from a top accredited institution and admission to practice law in New York.
  • 5+ years of combined experience in data privacy and protection, with a strong background in negotiating data privacy-related agreements and advising on consumer-related issues.
  • CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or CIPM privacy certifications are a plus.
