We are seeking a skilled Lead Materials Coordinator

Work Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift: Evening shift with a rotation of every third weekend and holiday; 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM

Work Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

Key Responsibilities

Under the general supervision and direction of the Team Leader, Distribution or designee, maintain appropriate inventory levels in the Medical/Surgical departments. Receive and distribute supplies and equipment utilized throughout the facility. Verify incoming shipments in accordance with established protocols. Process all merchandise using the designated computer systems. Provide follow-up as necessary to resolve receiving and/or accounts payable discrepancies. Conduct scheduled inventory checks and reorder supplies to maintain par levels using handheld devices. Perform scheduled courier service pickups and deliveries, fulfilling urgent courier requests as needed in accordance with the Courier Service Department's standard operating procedures.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. Familiarity with medical supplies and terminology is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in warehouse distribution and receiving is preferred. Strong communication and telephone skills are essential.
  • Proficient computer skills are preferred.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and thrive in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • A valid Vehicle Operator's License and a safe driving record are necessary for performing courier duties.
  • Compliance with road safety regulations, including driving with caution and courtesy, is required while operating hospital vehicles.
  • Use of Southcoast or, on occasion, personal vehicles may be necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or provide a valid exemption for medical or personal reasons upon hiring.
Compensation

USD $25.50 per hour.

Rotation Schedule Requirement

Every third weekend and every third holiday.
