Job Summary

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Plant Shift Engineer to support the US Army's Assembled Chemical Weapons Alternatives (ACWA) program. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, environmentally compliant, and effective decommissioning and disposal of the Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (PCAPP) facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct oversight of systems contractor closure activities on shift rotation to confirm compliance with established procedures and safety regulations.
  • Perform document reviews, technical research, equipment walk-downs, and field observations to provide technical input to the Government.
  • Observe and assess systems contractor activities, providing technical insight related to the technical approach and assessment of progress of demilitarization equipment cleaning, decommissioning, and dismantlement.
  • Review Engineering Change Proposals and temporary configuration changes, providing technical input to the Government on safety, basis for the change, cost and schedule impacts, and configuration management requirements.
  • Support the Government configuration control board and provide technical input to assist in resolving technical issues and interfacing with the Systems Contractor to collect, review, analyze, and evaluate technical data.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline preferred; three years' experience in chemical operations or related industry, processing operations to include process maintenance, operations, and safety.
  • Five years' relevant plant operations or maintenance experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, perform engineering calculations, and analyze engineering data related to process controls and operations.
  • General proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel).
  • Must be able to wear an M40 respirator (for emergency purposes only) and obtain and maintain a NACI Clearance.
