**Job Summary**

Under the direction of the Manager, Clinical Nutrition, the Dietary Associate III performs a variety of diet office tasks related to the transfer of information concerning patient diets, meal selections, preferences, and complaints. The incumbent must comply with standards established by the hospital, regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.

**Responsibilities**

  • Transfer information concerning patient diets, meal selections, preferences, and complaints.
  • Comply with standards established by the hospital, regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.
  • Perform other related diet office tasks as assigned.

**Requirements**

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to follow written directions and record information using high school level literacy skills.
  • Visual and auditory acuity.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Able to engage in strenuous physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and climbing.
  • Able to work outdoors in extremes of heat and cold.

**Preferred Qualifications**

  • Food Service experience.
  • Some computer knowledge.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and to interface with Nursing staff, patients, and employees.
  • Must have an understanding of weights and measures.
  • Must be able to relay/follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Visual and manual dexterity required.
