Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Trainee to join their team. As a key member of the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources, this role involves participating in the maintenance and operation of the wastewater treatment facility located at Gifford Pinchot State Park.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gain hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of various wastewater treatment systems
  • Manage biological processes and document operational data and observations
  • Familiarize yourself with laws, regulations, and permits mandated by federal, state, and local regulatory bodies
  • Work towards achieving a Class C- Subclass 1 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operating License through the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection
Requirements
  • Minimum six months of building maintenance or trades experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Possession of a PA class C Driver's License
  • Ability to perform essential job functions
Benefits
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch
  • Opportunity to work towards certification as a wastewater treatment plant operator
