Position Summary: The IT Help Desk role is an entry-level opportunity within the Information Technology Department. This position leverages knowledge of IT systems, products, and services to assist employees with hardware and software challenges. The IT Help Desk is responsible for documenting technical issues, troubleshooting solutions, and addressing routine inquiries, while escalating more complex problems to IT Specialists. Additionally, the Help Desk will facilitate the installation of IT-supported software on both new and upgraded equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare new laptops and desktops for users.
- Provide internal and remote customer support.
- Conduct minor hardware repairs.
- Support printer operations.
- Assist with client upgrades to IT applications.
- Offer phone support.
- Support mobility devices.
- Manage VPN support.
- Document procedures in SharePoint.
- Complete assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in an IT-related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; additional experience may substitute for formal education.
- General understanding of IT concepts with the ability to apply knowledge for independent problem-solving.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with all organizational levels.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a professional demeanor; ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
