Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:


The Yard Operations Specialist is accountable for the secure operation of commercial vehicles, maneuvering trailers within the yard, unloading trailers, and conducting yard inspections.

This role primarily involves outdoor work and exposure to various weather conditions.

Essential Duties:
Safely operate Tractor-Trailer and/or straight truck.

Perform preventative maintenance checks when connecting to trailers.

Report tire repairs before drivers commence their routes.

Contact local vendors for trailer refrigeration issues.

Occasionally make local deliveries as needed.

Safely operate a Yard Truck.

Complete additional tasks and special projects as assigned.

Adhere to safe work practices.

Protect confidential company information.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.

At least 1 year of driving experience.

Valid CDL Class A License required.

Additional Skills:
Must be a motivated self-starter capable of working independently.

Attention to detail is essential.

Ability to adapt to changing conditions.

Effective listening and following of directions.

Must adhere to established procedures.

Good attendance and punctuality record required.

Proficient in English, both written and verbal.

Ability to work in all types of outdoor weather conditions.

Physical Requirements:


The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

Must be able to frequently lift, carry, and/or move up to 75 pounds. While performing job duties, associates may be exposed to cooler and freezer temperatures. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and climbing are required.

Associates will work in a warehouse environment where temperatures can vary significantly. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions is expected. Noise levels in the work environment are typically low to moderate.
