Job Summary

UCSF is a national leader in newborn care, with a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) dedicated to providing advanced care to critically ill infants. As a certified level IV regional NICU, we offer a wide range of services, from basic to intensive care, and serve patients from across the region.

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the NICU. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Nursing with a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner specialization and a minimum of two years of recent experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as a Registered Nurse.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with the healthcare team, and contributing to the development of our NICU services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality patient care to critically ill infants in the NICU
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Contribute to the development of our NICU services, including quality improvement initiatives and educational programs
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices in neonatal care

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Nursing with a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner specialization
  • Minimum two years of recent experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as a Registered Nurse
  • Current national certification from an accepted certifying agency
  • California driver's license (CDL) if required for position
  • Active RN and NP and Furnishing license in California
  • Completed a BRN recognized graduate master's degree program as a nurse practitioner
  • Obtain an active and/or transferable DEA license to California and provide evidence by 90th day of clinical practice
  • Enrolled with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day
  • Current AHA BLS and NRP certifications
