Job Title: General Maintenance Technician

Ohio Means Jobs Cleveland Cuyahoga County is seeking a skilled General Maintenance Technician to join our team.

Job Summary:

The General Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of commercial building facilities, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and management personnel.
  • Inspect buildings, electrical systems, grounds, and equipment to ensure safe and well-maintained conditions.
  • Perform minor troubleshooting and repairs, including replacing light bulbs, fixtures, and fuses.
  • Identify and perform basic service and repair on plumbing fixtures, open clogged lines and drains, and replace water faucets.
  • Perform basic carpentry tasks, including repairing drywall, painting walls, and fixing doors and windows.
  • Inform management personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders.
  • Request equipment and supplies to maintain inventory and ensure availability of items required to complete tasks.
  • Respond to emergencies after hours, if necessary.
  • Complete work orders and requests promptly using employer-provided iPhone.
  • Follow all policies and procedures established in the Manuals and Client Contract documents.
  • Remove snow and salt walkways.
  • Maintain vehicle, tools, communication devices, and equipment to ensure availability in safe operating condition.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars, as assigned, to convey and/or gather information required to perform job functions.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Trade school graduate/military school or apprentice program, preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in maintenance or construction field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Drywall & Painting.
  • 3+ years' experience in HVAC.
  • 3+ years' experience in Plumbing.
  • 3+ years' experience in Electrical.
  • Experience using power tools and hand tools.
  • Experience using electrical metering devices.
  • Valid driver's license required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Professionalism, tact, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance.
  • Adaptability.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs or ladders, speak or hear.
  • The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.
