Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will assist engineers and scientists in performing project-related tasks supporting new process and product development. This includes troubleshooting and repairing primarily electrical and some mechanical systems used in the production of high-purity fused quartz. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, hands-on wiring experience, and proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

Key Responsibilities

The Electrical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for:

  • Performing basic electrical troubleshooting and repair of equipment up to 500VAC.
  • Installing, operating, maintaining, and repairing laboratory equipment, apparatus, and systems.
  • Preparing, analyzing, and processing laboratory samples.
  • Performing chemical and/or physical analyses or scientific tests using routine and special techniques in compliance with all safety standards.
  • Maintaining and completing test logs, repeatability studies, and test data. Submitting samples for outside testing as needed.
  • Performing basic machining tasks, including operating drills presses, Bridgeport mills, manual engine lathes, and surface grinders.
  • Operating testing equipment per JTAs.
  • Assisting in conducting, writing, updating, and reviewing JTAs.
  • Handling SAP test reporting, report generation, certification generation, and Microsoft Excel data entry and calculations. Creating and revising documents using Microsoft Word.
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  • Reporting maintenance requirements for the equipment used.
  • Ordering chemicals or supplies as needed.
  • Adhering to all safety requirements and working in a safe manner.


General Expectations

Each employee will work safely and obey all Environmental, Health & Safety rules and procedures under all circumstances, and follow safety policies. Each employee has a responsibility to ensure the quality of our process meets or exceeds customer expectations. Report and communicate deviations to our quality standards. You have the responsibility to immediately correct the deviation and/or report this condition to the Lab Supervisor, Process Engineer, Manager.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in electrical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Word, and Excel.


Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • An Associate's degree or trade certifications.


Travel

Less than 5% travel is required for this position.
