We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant I to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in preparing, analyzing, and reviewing financial statements, as well as reconciling accounts and preparing journal entries.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile general ledger accounts on a timely basis, ensuring accuracy of account balances and compliance with accounting standards.
- Journal Entry Preparation: Prepare and complete accurate journal entries by the closing date on a monthly basis, ensuring approvals are obtained prior to filing.
- Financial Analysis: Identify complex accounting problems, research solutions, and present recommendations to Senior Accountant and/or Management for further evaluation.
- Payroll and Tax Compliance: Contribute to and/or file Federal/State payroll tax returns, quarterly state sales/use tax returns, Federal/State corporate tax returns, and annual reports.
- Special Projects: Participate in special projects as assigned, demonstrating knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), standards, and procedures.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant area of study or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in accounting, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Skills: Highly organized self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) and/or Google Suite platforms.
