We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Activities Aide to join our team at Menorah Park. As an Activities Aide, you will play a vital role in providing a program of varied activities for the physical, emotional, intellectual, educational, and spiritual development of our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Implement activities programs for residents, including recreational, religious, intellectual, social, service-oriented, and exercise programs.
- Maintain one-to-one contact with residents, identifying their specific needs and reporting to the Director of Activities.
- Transport or escort residents to and from programs, pushing wheelchairs and activity carts as needed.
- Assist residents with daily tasks, such as using bathroom facilities.
- Participate in care planning, including MDS documentation and attending weekly patient care plan meetings.
- Communicate with nursing staff regarding resident needs, capabilities, and circumstances that may impact participation in activities.
- Maintain daily statistics on resident participation and evaluate recreation programs with the Director of Activities.
- Manage supplies and equipment, keeping the program area clean and orderly.
- Act professionally and respectfully at all times, maintaining confidentiality of resident medical and personal information.
- High school diploma or GED and 3 months of recreation/activities experience in a structured assistive living or long-term care facility.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to facilitate positive relations with residents, family members, and other departments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive motions, including bending, twisting, and pushing.
This is a part-time position, with varying hours during the day shift, every other weekend, and some holidays. If you are a team player with a passion for providing exceptional care and services to seniors, we encourage you to apply.
