Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Subsurface Utility Engineering Specialist to join our Geomatics team at Stewart. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing our field crews, as well as preparing and negotiating proposals. This exciting role offers a fast-paced working environment with a wide range of projects, including NCDOT, municipal, university, and other great projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the quality of work, ensuring accuracy, thoroughness, and clarity.
Meet schedules, budgets, and provide responsive service to clients.
Oversee the operation of surveying and SUE instrumentation and equipment, including prisms, total stations, GPS, data collectors, magnetic locators, and ground-penetrating radar.
Communicate effectively with clients, project workers, and the public.
Represent Stewart in a safe and professional manner, adhering to traffic laws and practicing safe driving habits.

Requirements:

4 years of technical experience in subsurface utility engineering.
High school degree or equivalent.
Valid driver's license and ability to pass a driving record check.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
Advanced understanding and knowledge of Subsurface Utility Engineering and associated equipment.
Advanced Utility Locator Training Course preferred, with a requirement to attain within the first 6 months of employment.

Legal authorization to work in the United States, without requiring sponsorship for an employment-based visa.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

Willingness and ability to perform the physical demands of the position, including squatting, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, traversing difficult terrain, and accessing construction sites in all weather conditions.
Willingness and ability to frequently move and operate land surveying equipment.

Our Geomatics group at Stewart captures, processes, and delivers spatially acquired data through traditional land surveying, global positioning systems, laser scanning, and unmanned aerial systems (drones). We present this information through CAD drawings, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), 3D models, photography, videography, or a combination thereof.
