Job Description

The Wooten Company's Wilmington, NC office is seeking a team-focused, innovative Civil Project Engineer with strong technical experience to join our expanding Civil & Environmental Team.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated civil engineer with a strong background in successfully completing water, wastewater and/or storm water projects for local governments and private clients.

Responsibilities
  • Work with utility owners, such as local governments and municipalities, in the delivery of critical water and sewer services, along with other community facilities.
  • Independently design projects and lead a team of colleagues to develop solutions that meet our client's needs, using the right mix of advanced technology and historically successful measures, while working within the financial boundaries of the project stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Strong technical skills in design of water, storm water, and wastewater utilities with cradle-to-grave competency.
  • Experience with design of water distribution systems and/or sanitary sewer collection.
  • Familiarity with federal, state and local agency regulations, primarily concerning municipal water and wastewater projects.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to be involved in presentations to clients/attend meetings.
Qualifications
  • B.S. Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Professional Engineer (PE) in a consulting engineering environment.
  • NC licensed Professional Engineer (or if licensed outside NC, ability to obtain NC license within one year).
