Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Finance Department as a Finance Intern. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining accounting records, reconciling accounts, and resolving discrepancies in accordance with our policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily reconciliations of employer and member contributions from source systems to external recordkeepers
  • Prepare daily cash funding requests and analysis
  • Prepare periodic account reconciliations for specific processes and general ledger accounts
  • Analyze and resolve differences in a timely and efficient manner
  • Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation
  • Perform related duties or special projects as assigned
  • Prepare schedules for monthly and annual reporting

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of accounting and auditing standards
  • General knowledge of organization, functions, goals, and purposes of the department and agency
  • Good problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and research skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to set priorities, work under pressure of formal schedules and deadlines
  • Attention to detail with high accuracy
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Good understanding of internal controls and ability to implement controls

Qualifications

  • Working towards a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field
