Job Summary

UPMC Life Changing Medicine is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing life-changing care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate medical orders and interpret clinical data to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Set up and operate respiratory therapy equipment, including mechanical ventilators and therapeutic gas administration apparatus.
  • Assist in transporting mechanically ventilated patients and respond to code situations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and provide education to trainees and other healthcare personnel.
  • Monitor patient responses to therapy and perform pulmonary function tests as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Co ARC-approved Respiratory program or temporary license with approval from the Human Resources department.
  • CPR certification based on AHA standards.
  • ACLS and PALS certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) or Osteopathic Respiratory Care OR Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP) certification.
  • Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI Clearance.
