Transmission Line Operations Supervisor

The Transmission Line Operations Supervisor will oversee the planning and execution of contractor activities and electrical operations at large-scale transmission line projects. This role is pivotal in fostering strong partnerships through exceptional service delivery.

Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, adaptability, a keen focus on details, and effective communication abilities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Guarantee the meticulous installation of electrical components for projects, including underground cabling, modular wiring, combiner box connections, and DC collection systems.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to conduct drawing reviews, assess constructability, and provide feedback, ensuring that the quality of materials, equipment, and workmanship meets the contract specifications.
  • Partner with the Site Manager and the Project Manager to review project timelines and updates.
  • Supervise the work team to ensure adherence to quality control standards.
  • Manage interactions with relevant personnel regarding the integration of the project power grid with the existing transmission network.
  • Participate in project meetings, acting as a liaison between engineers, contractors, and craft workers to ensure compliance with project drawings and specifications for electrical components.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment within the project group.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all site visitors, including clients and contractors.
  • Efficiently review logistics, offering improvement suggestions. Monitor contractor procurement of electrical resources, methods, staffing, and coordination with other site activities. Collaborate with engineering staff to ensure accurate and timely transmission of plans, specifications, submittals, and RFIs to subcontractors.
  • Oversee safety, quality, and efficiency of contractor work on all projects, ensuring that subcontract crews have the necessary resources and support.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience in a relevant field.
  • Expertise in the installation, testing, acceptance, maintenance, and repair of DC and medium voltage cables.
  • Familiarity with current injection, Hi-pot testing, capacitance discharge, contact resistance, Megger, TTR, Doble, and other cable and equipment testing methodologies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical schematics, sketches, and prints, as well as knowledge of underground duct banks, trenching, manholes, vaults for collection systems, and transformer usage.
  • Valid driver's license.
